Property tax defaulters to face the music of Pune Municipal Corporation

Property tax defaulters to face the music of Pune Municipal Corporation

Defaulters who have failed to pay their property tax in time will soon have a band of musicians playing at their doorstep when civic officials visit their residences for recovery of the dues.

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will have a musical band playing in front of the houses of defaulters starting September 10 as a move to recover long pending property tax dues.

A budgetary provision has been made to hire a band of musicians.

Each team will have three members to be accompanied by PMC officials who will go to the defaulters premises and start playing the music till the defaulter assures payment or instantly pays off the dues.

PMC had started this practice last year and had received good response. Property tax department will therefore continue the same practice this year.
