MIDC's 500 crore plus makeover plan for Hinjewadi IT Park in Pune

MIDC's 500 crore plus makeover plan for Hinjewadi IT Park in Pune

Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has prepared an ambitious blueprint for Rs 500 crore plus makeover for the Hinjewadi based Rajiv Gandhi IT Park and its adjoining areas.

While some of the projects which are part of this plan would be completed within the next two to three years, others may take longer. Work on the project has already begun.

Rapid development in the surrounding areas around Hinjewadi has emerged as a major challenge for land acquisition. The farmers and land owners often challenge terms decided for land acquisition since there is no fixed price set for buying land.

Among MIDC's future big ticket projects at Hinjewadi IT Park are

- Rs 151.50 crore four-lane flyover from Pimpri Chinchwad limit to T Junction.
- Rs 143.55 crore 5 km road project which will connect Balewadi to Rajiv Gandhi IT Park

Project such as 1.75 km road from Vinode Vasti to Tata Johnson co and 1.80 km road along the irrigation canal are likely to complete in next 2-3 years.

Six laning of road from Wakad flyover to Shivaji Chowk, Hinjewadi and road widening in Rajiv Gandhi IT Park Phase I are in final stages of completion.

Rs 23 crores allocated for improvement of water distribution network across Hinjewadi.

Five new power substations with capacity of 850 KV will come up at Hinjewadi IT Park and its adjoining areas. MIDC is developing three substations, rest will be set up by Maharastra State Electricity Transmission (MSEB) Company.

MIDC also plans to pump in about Rs 28 crore to boost power supply in Hinjewadi IT Park Phase III.
